The Menopause Resource Hub

Welcome to the Menopause Resource Hub

Welcome to my Menopause Resource Hub – a carefully curated collection of books, products, apps and other resources designed to support women through perimenopause and menopause, as well as employers and anyone looking to better understand the menopause journey.

Every resource featured here has been selected because I believe it offers genuine value, whether through trusted information, practical support or everyday solutions. Many are resources I have recommended during workplace training sessions, discussed with clients, or reviewed as part of my Mobile Menopause Library.

My priority is always to provide balanced, evidence-informed guidance that helps you make informed choices. While no single product or resource is right for everyone, I hope this collection serves as a useful starting point for finding the support that's right for you.

Please note that some of the links on this page are affiliate links. This means that, if you choose to make a purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

I only recommend resources that I believe are worthwhile, and any commission earned helps support the ongoing development of free educational content, book reviews and menopause resources.

Cooling Towels

Cooling towels offer a simple, reusable way to help manage sudden feelings of overheating caused by hot flushes. Lightweight and easy to carry, they're ideal for keeping at home, at work or in your bag for when you need quick relief.

Annette's View: While they won't prevent hot flushes, many women find cooling towels a practical, non-medical option for staying more comfortable. As with all menopause support, what works for one person may not work for another.

Cooling Pillows

 Cooling Pillows

Cooling pillows are designed to help regulate temperature and may be particularly helpful for women experiencing night sweats or disrupted sleep during menopause. They can provide a cooler, more comfortable sleeping environment, helping to reduce overheating overnight.

Annette's View: Sleep is one of the most common challenges women tell me about during menopause. While a cooling pillow isn't a cure, many women find it a worthwhile addition to their bedtime routine for improving comfort and supporting better-quality sleep.

Sleep Eye Masks

A comfortable sleep eye mask can help block out light and create a more restful sleeping environment, particularly if menopause symptoms are disrupting your sleep. It's a simple, affordable addition to a good bedtime routine.

Annette's View: Many women find that improving their sleep environment can make a real difference. While an eye mask won't address the underlying causes of sleep disturbance, it can be a helpful aid in promoting relaxation and better-quality rest.

Sunrise Alarm Clocks

A sunrise alarm clock gradually increases light before your chosen wake-up time, helping you wake more naturally and gently than with a traditional alarm. Many also include relaxing sounds to support a calming bedtime routine.

Annette's View: Menopause can affect both the quality and pattern of sleep. While a sunrise alarm clock won't resolve the underlying causes of sleep disruption, many women find it helps them wake feeling more refreshed and less startled, particularly after a restless night.

Menopause Support Patches

Menopause support patches are marketed as a convenient way to deliver vitamins, minerals or botanical ingredients through the skin. They are available in a variety of formulations, although the evidence supporting their effectiveness varies.

Annette's View: Be cautious of products that make bold claims about relieving menopause symptoms. If you're considering menopause support patches, look for clear information about their ingredients and the evidence behind them. If your symptoms are affecting your quality of life, it's always worth discussing your options with a healthcare professional.

Hot Flash Fans

Portable hot flash fans provide instant airflow to help you cool down quickly when a hot flush strikes. Compact and rechargeable, they're easy to keep in your handbag, on your desk or by your bedside, making them a practical companion at home, work or while travelling.

Annette's View: A portable fan is one of the most commonly recommended practical aids for managing hot flushes. While it won't prevent them, many women find it offers quick, convenient relief and helps them feel more comfortable when symptoms occur.

Free Weights for Home Workouts

Strength training is an important part of maintaining muscle strength and bone health during and after menopause. A set of dumbbells is a simple way to incorporate resistance exercises into your routine from the comfort of your own home.

Annette's View: Regular strength training can offer significant health benefits during menopause, including supporting bone density, muscle strength and overall wellbeing. Start with a weight that feels comfortable and gradually increase as your strength improves.

Silk Pillowcases

Silk pillowcases offer a smooth, breathable surface that many women find more comfortable, particularly if they're experiencing night sweats or temperature changes during menopause. They may also help reduce friction on hair and skin while you sleep.

Annette's View: While a silk pillowcase won't prevent menopause symptoms, many women enjoy the added comfort and cooling feel it provides. Combined with good sleep habits, it can be a simple way to create a more relaxing bedtime environment.

Sleep Support Ideas

Better sleep starts with creating the right environment. I've brought together a selection of products that may help women experiencing menopause-related sleep disturbances, from cooling bedding to relaxation aids. As always, these recommendations are intended to support informed choices, recognising that what works well for one person may not work for another.

Annette's View: Sleep disturbance is one of the symptoms I hear about most often from the women I support. While there's no single solution that works for everyone, creating a comfortable sleep environment and adopting good sleep habits can make a real difference. I've selected the products below because they may help support a more restful night's sleep and improve comfort during perimenopause and menopause.

Kettlebells

Kettlebells are a versatile piece of equipment that can help improve strength, balance and overall fitness. Regular resistance training is particularly beneficial during and after menopause, supporting muscle mass, bone health and functional movement.

Annette's View: Strength training doesn't have to be complicated. A single kettlebell can be used for a wide range of exercises, making it a practical choice whether you're new to exercise or looking to build strength at home. Start with a weight that's appropriate for your fitness level and focus on good technique.

Cooling face mist

Cooling face mists provide a quick and refreshing way to cool the skin, making them a handy option for women experiencing hot flushes or feeling overheated. Compact and easy to carry, they're ideal for use at home, at work or while travelling.

Annette's View: A cooling face mist won't prevent hot flushes, but many women find it offers instant relief and helps them feel more refreshed during warmer moments. Look for gentle, hydrating formulas that are suitable for sensitive skin.
